Alfred Thörne was a Swedish landscape and portrait painter. He studied under Per Daniel Holm at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. In 1880 he received a royal medal for his work “Sommarmorgon (Summer Morning)” and was accepted as an agréé at the academy one year later. With the help of a travel grant, Thörne travelled to Germany, France, Italy and Belgium from 1884 to 1886.
