Montserrat is a mountain range about 10 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide in the province of Barcelona, Spain, and part of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Mountains. Administratively, it belongs to the municipalities of Collbató, El Bruc, Marganell and Monistrol de Montserrat. The mountain range is culturally and symbolically important for Catalonia, particularly because of the Montserrat monastery, which was declared a natural park in 1987.
