“The journey through Patagonia. On the way to the South Pole and Tierra del Fuego, I met the area between the Humboldt Current, the Pacific and the ocean with elementary excitement. A sudden change in the weather made being on the move a torture tour. Because warm air blows over the Pacific, which meets the cold Humboldt Current, so that everything swirls and the snowstorms that sweep vertically from top to bottom alternate with sudden onset of rain. This results in fantastic rainbows. The country disappears here and reappears there.” Günther Uecker
