After the end of the Second World War, Jules Cavaillès began an intensive artistic creative phase: in his Paris studio, on the property in Tonnerre or in his apartment in Cannes, he created landscapes and figurative representations as well as many still lifes and interiors with a view outside. Usually an open window or an open balcony door that reveal the view of the sea is part of the composition. The sheet “View of the Port of Cannes” is one of these subjects.
