The framing chestnut on the left edge of the picture is losing its yellow-red leaves, so that a few branches protrude bare over the water. The other trees are also slowly changing colour and their leaves are scattered across the meadow and the water. The autumnal impression of the courtyard garden is supported by the soft light.
