In the painting “Flower Garden” we witness Balwé’s own style, which is characterised by a combination of impressionist motifs with a bright, expressionist colour scheme. Until late in his career, the artist remained true to his own style and thus created an unmistakable oeuvre, with which he joins the ranks of the well-known names of 20th century German painting.
