Short information about the artist

Max Liebermann and Lovis Corinth are the two great names of German painting around 1900. In art history, Liebermann is regarded as one of the most important pioneers of modern German painting, not only because of his work, but also because of his art-political activities, including as president of the Berlin Secession and director of the Prussian Academy of Arts (1922 – 1933).
