Exhibition from 12 to 27 March 2026:
The exhibition Between Water and Line brings together artists Aurel Dahlgrün and Viktoria Strecker,
combining two perspectives that deal with perception,
structure and transformation from different angles.
While Dahlgrün takes real landscapes and natural systems as his starting point,
Strecker develops her forms from drawing processes.
The interplay between the two creates a tension between the outside world and internal structure,
between documentation and construction.

Aurel Dahlgrün (*1989)
is an internationally active conceptual artist who combines photography, installation
and process-based works. At the heart of his work is
the element of water as an image space and carrier of ecological
and poetic meanings. Growing up in Småland, Sweden,
he developed a close relationship with nature at an early age.
From 2012 to 2018, he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy
at Christopher Williams.
Dahlgrün’s works are often created during artistic expeditions
and under extreme conditions – from Arctic landscapes
and dives under ice to aquatic experimental spaces in his studio.
His works have been exhibited at the Kunsthalle Bremerhaven,
K21 – Kunstsammlung NRW, the Kunsthalle Bielefeld,
the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf and internationally in Austria and China,
and are held in public and private collections.
Viktoria Strecker (*1987)
combines drawing, object and sculpture into an organic-abstract
design language. Using intuitive lines and structures, she develops
physical works in lengthy processes that lie between natural
appearance and constructed system.
Already during his studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy
at Marcel Odenbach, she exhibited in museums and art associations
throughout Germany and participated in international exhibitions and
fairs in Basel, New York City, Miami and Rio de Janeiro, among other places.
In 2019, she was named by Handelsblatt as one of nine artists
with particular collection potential.
Strecker received scholarships for artist residencies in New York, Vermont
and Moscow. Her works are held in numerous
private and public collections, including the Philara Collection.
In 2024, she received the Rainer Funke Art Prize from the City of Cologne.
