Hugo Mühlig is very famous to this day for his landscapes. Today Mühlig is considered one of the internationally best-known representatives of the late Düsseldorf school of painting. His artistic career began in his native Dresden. There he studied under V. P. Mohn at the art academy. In 1881 he moved to Düsseldorf. Here he found his characteristic style.
