In the painting “Königsallee” we stand at the southern end of the boulevard and look over the sheet bridge of the Bastionstrasse and the stone bridge of the stone road to the Triton fountain and the Hofgarten. On both shores, the KÖ ditch is surrounded by the mighty crowns of the chestnuts and plane trees. It just seems to have rained as the slightly shimmering street surface reveals in the foreground.
