Eugène Henri Cauchois was a pupil of Alexandre Cabanel. He specialised in flower painting, with which he achieved great success. His paintings owe their special light and play of colours to his virtuoso and impasto painting technique. In his later years he devoted himself to decorative painting.
Cauchois’ works can be found in numerous private collections as well as in museums in Rouen, Louviers, Perpignan, Chatellerault and Rio de Janeiro.
